Cycling in the French alps

Postby mstubbsegginton on Sun May 30, 2010 10:30 am

I am a relative new comer to cycling and a newcomer to the Ascent software but thought I would occasionally publish some of my favourite runs from where I live in Annecy, France. Since I am surrounded by alpine hills any cycle out makes for some interesting ascents and descents!

My favourite route last year was to Manigod and La Clusaz, better known for their skiing and included , I am reliably informed, a hill that was in the 2004 Tour. The route can be found at http://files.me.com/mstubbsegginton/miyky2

This year I am building up with a run I call Tour du Semnoz, Le Semnoz being the local "hill" . The summit is at 1700m (5600ft) and there is a road to the top- I am building up to that one. This route takes you round the hill and includes a total of 715m (2345ft) of climb. The route can be seen at http://files.me.com/mstubbsegginton/m3679a
