Support for Garmin Edge 1000

Postby GPS_Enthusiast on Fri Jul 17, 2015 5:38 pm

I see support for the Edge 800. Am looking to buy the Edge 1000. Does Ascent support the Edge 1000?

Thanks

I have a Garmin Montana and was concerned about Ascent being compatible with it.

Ascent won't sync with it, but I can open the volume and go to the GPX folder and find my track gpx files. I then drag and drop them into the activity browser. Works a treat.

Before the sync system came in a few years ago, that was the way I had to do my Edge 305 and Edge 705. When sync came in, my 705 would sync.

I don't know the Edge 1000, but can it appear on your desktop as a volume?
If so, you should be able to find your tracks and drag and drop.

Good luck,
Mick.

Thanks Mick. Got the 1000 anyway, and it does sync, probably conforming to the same structure as the 800, which Ascent does support.

But was not aware of the GPX drag and drop feature. Didn't think of that. Need to do it with everything else Garmin!

That's ok. :D

Have a practice with drag and drop. Make a track on (say) http://www.bikehike.co.uk or http://bikeroutetoaster.com and save them to your desktop. Bring up Ascent with a new browser (Cmd N) and drag and drop the saved files.

Good luck,
Mick.
