To be honest, I'm surprised he's still paying for the web hosting.

I installed Mavericks, and Ascent works. I had to re-enter my purchase code, but since then, it seems to work. The only problem I've noticed is that when I save my Ascent file, the text in the progress bar is scrambled. I think that's a sign that eventually one of the OS upgrades will break Ascent once and for all, but for now, it's still working.

I mainly use Strava now. But still keep a backup on Ascent. It still works, and is useful for logging annual km totals. I remember asking the author if he could work on segment analysis way before Strava came along with their segment idea, but nothing happened. Now its one of the main things I find useful on Strava, where it will track, log analyse, a section of a ride without you hang to remember to press any buttons on the GPS. Would be nice if it continued to be developed though. I'd be happy to contribute with some funding if asked.

I just upgraded to OS X (10.9.1)
Now six years of info is scattered over 1/2 dozen separate pages.
Hopefully I'll be able to merge it all back to a single page.
But it appears to me, right now anyway, that Ascent may not be compatible with OSX.
Too bad if this is the case. For me, Ascent is just far superior to Garmin Connect & Strava.

Ascent still works in OS X, as of 10.9.1. It's just too bad development is dead. I've since switched over to rubiTrack.
